the 2020
WASH Gala
The FACE Africa WASH Gala held in New York City is a celebration of Africans and Friends of Africa, parlaying excellence in industry into change in community. This year, our goal is to get governments, corporations and foundations to commit $1m to providing Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programs and facilities in rural communities around the continent of Africa. The event will include a VIP reception, premium open bar, African-inspired food, award presentation and Keynote, and live music followed by an After-party. Join us on Saturday, September 19, 2020 in New York City as we celebrate our 11th Annual WASH Gala and raise funds to support community WASH programs across Africa.

Theme
partnerships for clean water
The theme for this years gala "Partnerships for Clean Water" is more than a catchy tag line -- it's the recognition that in this Decade of Action, in order to accomplish Goal #6 of providing access to Clean Water and Sanitation to everybody on the continent by 2030, we must use Goal #17 - Partnerships for the Goals. That means partnering with people, communities, other civil society organizations, corporations and most importantly governments to prioritize access to access to clean water and sanitation. That is why, for his years Gala we are partnering with the Georgie Badiel Foundation, an organization committed to clean water and sanitation for all in Burkina Faso. For partnership opportunities, contact gala@faceafrica.org.

About us
For ten years FACE Africa has worked to strengthen WASH programs and services in Liberia, and most recently Nigeria. Our success to date includes the completion of WASH and community health projects in rural communities across Liberia and Nigeria that have brought life-changing programs to more than 150,000 people through extensive community involvement and engagement, the establishment of community-based WASH Committees and post-implementation maintenance.
By demonstrating the success of our community-based model, we are working to reshape the narrative around WASH and using our platform and collective voices to drive government action in realizing the UN Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water For All.
Our WASH advocacy supports and enable citizens and communities to demand accountability and influence political leaders who create the policies, laws, regulations and budgets regarding provision of WASH in their communities.
This years Gala is presented in partnership with the Georgie Badiel Foundation, an organization which like us believes that all human beings have a fundamental right to available clean drinking water, sanitation facilities and education, and is committed to building, restoring and maintaining wells, and providing sanitation facilities in Burkina Faso and neighboring Sub-Saharan African countries.
